Current owner: Private collector, South Australia.

MMM No: 1279

Information: Built at Abingdon in 1932 as a Salonette for the home market.  This is a rare survivor and is believed to be one of only seven salonette bodied F-types known out of 390 built, such was the fragility of that style of bodywork. Read more here.

History: The history of this vehicle is recorded back to its birth although not available to share.  What is known is that it carried the UK registration WO 6252 suggesting that it lived its early life in or near Monmouthshire, Wales.

When acquired by Timothy Edwards in 1978, it was complete and original but very tired and became the subject of a detailed restoration retaining as many original features as possible, including the original leather interior trim.

It is believed the the car has been driven only 7500 miles from new however it has traveled much further since it was purchased in 2019 and shipped to Australia, arriving in early 2020.

It is not driven; it is preserved as a historic relic and has been placed on public display in Gilbert’s Motor Museum in Strathalbyn, South Australia.
