Yamba 2019

The eighth running of the biennial Pre-war M.G. Register rally in September 2019 returned to Yamba, N.S.W. for the second time.

Enthusiasts from all corners of Australia as well as visitors from Germany hosted by the Morgan family brought with them 38 various pre-war M.G.s. The deluge of 2017 was replaced by drought and the threat of bushfires, however the street display went ahead in the historic town of McLean followed by two days of scenic tours of the evirons.

Unfortunately the fire threat became all too real and rallyists were recalled to evacuate their accommodation venues to salvage their belongings and decamp to safer climes. The organisers swung into action and managed to find an alternate venue for the Gala Dinner ensuring that tradition was observed and a good time was had by all.

Below is a random sample of just some of the 200+ images taken by Robin Page and you are welcome to view them all here.

Canberra has been nominated as the destination for the next rally in 2021. Just to add to the organiser’s workload the rally will be open to pre-war, T and Y-series M.G.s
