Information: Built at Abingdon in 1932 as a standard F1 four-seat tourer for the home market.
Information: No early history provided however the following has been found from various sources on the ‘net and from an article by a former owner, Colin Genlloud published in Safety Fast March 1996 which you can read here.
Acquired by C.G. in 1963, together with two friends set off from England in August ’64 for a few days touring in Europe, partly re-enacting the adventure by John Haygate in the 30s in his new F-type and recorded in his book ‘Motor Tramp’. The car was taken off the road in 1968 and did not re-emerge until 1997 fully rebuilt and resplendent in two shades of blue, having previously been maroon.
There are images of it on the Regency Runs in 1998 and 2001.
The next recorded appearance is at the Pre-war Rally at Beechworth in 2007 in the hands of John Firth-Smith having imported it after purchasing it from the previous owner’s widow. On attendance at the Pre-war Rally at Bathurst in 2013 the colour had changed to black.
In 2019 ownership passed to Russell Turner in N.S.W.
