Current owner: Morgan Family, Vic.
Information: Built at Abingdon circa Dec. 1935.
History: Early history unknown.
What we do know is that in 1959 Geoff McGrath who ran the Sydney Speed Shop had the car in his yard having acquired it from Peter Molloy. Around this time Don Glanville, Secretary of the North Shore Sporting Car Club appeared on the scene carrying a new roots type J100 supercharger and mounting kit.
Using the blower, light-weight alloy bonnet and guards Geoff created a potent little race car that he shared with many of his friends, including in no particular order; Don Granville, Ken Rowe, Colin Bond, John Cummins and Bob Minogue. Later in its life Geoff commissioned Alan Standfield to build an ultralight body in the style of a Q-type while the original P-type body was sold to David Price to adorn his M.G. F-type.
In 1983 the car was acquired by Ian Mawson and after a refresh and a colour change, began its new life in Victoria competing in innumerable historic race meetings, rallies and social runs.
Loss of youthful flexibility forced Ian to offer the car for sale and it was quickly absorbed into the growing Morgan Family collection.
