Current owner: Michael and Kathleen Gosbell, NSW.
Information: Built at Abingdon as a 2-seater for the home market. It was sold by dealer Greens Motors Ltd, Jubilee Gardens, Haverford West, Pembrokeshire on 16/10/37 and registered DEL 721. The owner was Ralph Victor Lamarra, of 12 East High Street, Airdrie, Scotland.
History: The first owner kept the car until 1949 and then it changed hands every couple of years as recorded below, that was until it was acquired by William Hicks in non-running condition in 1966.
Our interest in William Leonard Hicks begins in 1951 when he moved from the UK to W.A., where he married a local girl and worked as a mechanic in the wheatfields east of Perth. In 1958 he and his wife moved back to William’s home town of Glasgow, Scotland.
In 1966 William rescued the TA from a neighbour’s yard, repaired it and it served as their second car. In 1983 it was dismantled in preparation for a full restoration. It was still in pieces when William and his wife moved back to W.A. in 1995. Progress was slow but improved after their son Leonard emigrated to join them in 2009.
Unfortunately William passed away in 2015 and it was left to Leonard to complete the TA. He appointed a professional, John Harris, to finish the project and it was completed in 2020 and registered in WA with the same number it carried in the UK, DEL 721.
Sold to Michael and Kathleen Gosbell in 2023 and taken to NSW.
