The biennual Pre War MG gathering at Yamba NSW

Murray Arundell and the Gold Coast MG CC put on a superb event for lovers of pre war MG,s and supporters with a combination of driving and social activities held over 4 days. The 2017 Pre-war MG Register Rally was held over the weekend of 13th to 16th October at Yamba on the north coast of New South Wales. So that the cars and rallye entrants (from Melbourne) would feel more at home, the sunshine of Friday and Saturday turned to showers and heavy rain for the touring events held on Sunday and Monday. The SVW brigade were snug as a bug in a rug enclosed in their luxurious MGs enjoying “ Pace, Grace and Space”. Many drivers and passengers in the open MGs suggested that the MG motto “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday” should have been changed to “Wet on Sunday; Monday, Sell on Tuesday”. The Rallye attracted over one hundred entrants from the United Kingdom, United States, New Zealand, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Despite the weather trying to dampen the spirits of the MG pre-war enthusiasts the event flowed smoothly and the MG spirit was alive and flourishing. Ross Kelly & Murray Arundell.
