Current owner: John Noble, Victoria.
Information: Built in Abingdon in 1933 as a 4-door saloon for the home market. It was painted black with a green interior.
History:
Delivered to Duthie & Sons, Montrose, Angus, Scotland on the 6th of November 1933. The car was then sold to the first owner, A.M. Wilkie, on the 11th of November of the same year. The first recorded UK road registration was SR8731. Subsequent UK owners are noted as C. Garton 7/37, G. Gardner 4/38, P.J. Skegg 1956 and C.P. Shaw 1964.
Imported into Australia by Rod Hiley in the 1970s having discovered it in a shed in Weybridge, UK., near the Brooklands circuit.
The car then passed to Frank Bett who used it as a source for spares while restoring K3004 at the time, Ivan Glasby may also have had an interest. By the 1990s the car was acquired by Rob Baylis; having access to the genuine K3s owned by both Hiley and Bett and with copies of factory drawings obtained from the UK, Baylis began work on rebuilding K0330 in the style of a K3 as accurately as possible.
Many parts were sourced from UK specialist companies such as Pheonix Crankshafts, etc., as well as reproduction parts from Peter Gregory.
After some years work, the chassis was ready, engine and preselect gearbox assembled and many major components sourced however Baylis then decided to sell the project.
The next owner was Georg Leitl who assigned Historic and Vintage to complete the project. This took some years culminating with an appearance at Motorclassica in 2019.
