Current Owner: Martin Swan, W.A.

Information: Built at Abingdon in 1934 as a 2-seater for the home market painted green.

First registered to Mr Maurice John Parr and registered AYT 407 on 6/6/34.

History:  There is an image of Mr & Mrs Parr on holiday, thought to be visiting Mr Parr’s family in Torquay, Devon.

Mr Parr sold the car in 1946; we don’t know the buyer but a registration card exists recording owners from 1951 to 1970, in that time not only the owners but the colour changed too – in 1964 it was black and in 1968 it was white.

In 1981 it was bought as a running car by Graham Gimblett from Barry Walker and imported into Western Australia in December of that year.

G. G. found the engine was seized with broken pistons/rings etc., and began a full restoration acquiring a new timber body frame in Tasmanian Oak but saved the original scuttle, door skins and bonnet. Letters and images of the restoration exist and by 1989 the car was about 90% completed and painted two-tone red.

Unfortunately Mr Gimblett died in 1998 and the almost completed car was placed in storage by his family and it was not until 2011 that they finally sold the car to Martin Swan.

The car was registered AYT 407 (its’ UK no.) in Dec. 2011. On going improvements have been made over the ensuing years with reco’d radiator and water pump added in 2012, supercharger set up by John Hunting in 2013, complete mechanical rebuild in 2015/6 including new block, crank and rods, repainted red in 2017 with cycle guards and new leather trim and in 2018 a new fuel tank with quick release cap.

Martin offered the car for sale in Jan. 2026.
