Allan Reid’s recently acquired 1935 NA Magnette carries an attractive aluminium two seater body, built by an unidentified Australian coachbuilder, and is finished in traditional MG cream and brown colours. The MG was imported new by Lanes Motors in chassis form, together with another Magnette, one chassis number different, which used to be owned by Andrew Fock’s father. That car has now vanished. Allan’s car, NA 0678, is known to have been owned by John Ruffley in 1956, then passed on to John Buchanan in the mid-1960s, who himself has passed on. John Buchanan.
