Information: Built at Abingdon 5/10/33 in CKD form without bodywork. The car was shipped to Lanes in Melbourne and dispatched to Aspinalls to be fitted with one of their door-less two seat bodies.
History: It was sold to Les Murphy and registered 65.434.
With Murphy driving the car formed part of Lanes Motors race team, with the first event being the Phillip Island 100 held on 1/1/34, Murphy finished 7th.
The next event was the A.G.P. 19/3/34 at Phillip Island, unfortunately Murphy D.N.F.
The Winter 100 was held 4/6/34 again at P.I., Murphy was reportedly flagged off.
Murphy replaced the J2 with a P-type before the next race, the Victorian Centenary Grand Prix, 27/10/34, with the result that Murphy finished 2nd.
