Information: Built at Abingdon on 31/3/33 as a 2-seater for the home market. Registered MG 2657.
History: No recent history supplied however there is an article in the 1977 MMM Yearbook written by Allan Scott describing his acquisition of this car in 1965 and his exploits on British race circuits over the next six years. You may read the article here.
More recently, throughout 2023, Browne’s Metalcraft posted a series of images on Facebook showing their progress creating an all-aluminium body in the style of a Q-type on this chassis. Starting from images of known Q-types they developed a 3D model from which they built a timber buck over which were hand-formed aluminium panels, after cutting rows of louvres the entire body was polished to a mirror finish. The assembled vehicle was displayed on Browne’s stand at the 2023 MotorEX.
