Information: Built at Abingdon in late 1935 as a 2-seater.

History: Early history unknown.

Bought by B.S. through an online auction 26/1/23 and imported from the USA to Australia.  The seller was Gene Ponder a well known collector of classic cars with a preference for M.G.s; this was one of three NBs he owned at the time.

Researching the car’s history has been hampered by the fact that its chassis file is among those records lost by the MMM Register.

The only information to have come to light is from Bob Alley; the owner prior to G.P. and is the person that restored the car.  He records that the car came from a collection in Encinitas, California, the owner may have been G.Hall, it was bought by Everett Smith in the ’80s.  A divorce forced its sale and records were lost.  The buyer was Robert (Bob) Alley from Rocklin, California circa 2008.  The car was two-tone green, possibly original.

B.A. fully rebuilt the car from the chassis up to a high standard refinished in two-tone blue and completed around 2014.  A couple of years later it was sold to Gene Ponder, while in his care the car was embellished further with the addition of chromed wheels, polished sump and a side mounted supercharger.  After the death of his first wife Mr Ponder remarried and decided at the age of 80 that it was time to sell his collection.
